The Peoria Riverfront Museum will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, to announce the acquisition of what it calls arguably the most important photograph ever taken in Peoria โ a rare, original ambrotype of Abraham Lincoln.
The museum says the image has been added to its permanent collection. The announcement coincides with the museum's 14th anniversary.
Scheduled speakers include Peoria Riverfront Museum President and CEO John D. Morris, chief curator Bill Conger and Board Chair Derek Schryer, along with others.
The museum is located at 222 SW Washington St. in Peoria. More information is available at the museum's website, peoriariverfrontmuseum.org.
