A LaSalle man faces several charges after a traffic stop in rural LaSalle County, according to the LaSalle County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say the stop happened at about 9:51 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2026, at Illinois Route 18 and East 9th Road in Richland Township.
The sheriff's office says the driver, Jose L. Coss, 51, of LaSalle, was arrested and charged with speeding 81 mph in a 55 mph zone, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, driving under the influence and violation of pretrial release.
According to the report, Coss is being held at the LaSalle County jail to see a judge.
Illinois Route 18 is a rural east–west state highway that runs across central Illinois, including LaSalle County, according to its Wikipedia entry.
All are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
