Illinois Valley Community College will open application periods for several of its health professions programs after the first of the year, the college's Marketing and Communications Department announced.
Applications for the Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) programs will open Jan. 19, 2027. Dental hygiene applications will be accepted through March 1, 2027, while dental assisting and CMA applications will be accepted through May 1, 2027.
The application process for the practical nursing certificate and registered nursing degree programs has changed, according to the release. The number of admission cycles has doubled, and the application window now has a one-month deadline.
Nursing admission cycles
- Fall cycle: Opens April 20, 2027, and closes May 20, 2027. Admission decisions will be released in June, and the program begins in August 2027 after a mandatory orientation during the summer.
- Spring cycle: Opens Sept. 20, 2027, and closes Oct. 20, 2027. Admission decisions will be released in November, and the program begins in January 2028 after a mandatory orientation during the late fall semester.
