University of Illinois Extension is holding a free Indoor Edible Gardens program at the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library in Spring Valley, the Extension announced in a news release.

The program teaches participants how to grow fresh herbs, salad greens and more indoors throughout the year, the release said. It is presented by Illinois Extension's Master Gardener volunteers.

The Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library is located at 215 E. Cleveland St. in Spring Valley, according to the library's website. Illinois Extension has brought the Indoor Edible Gardens program to the library in past years, and the program has also been offered at other area libraries in the region.

The Illinois Extension is part of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. More information is available at extension.illinois.edu.
