Free Halloween costumes are available to children across the greater Muscatine area through a collaborative effort between United Way Muscatine County and local community partners.

United Way said the initiative was spearheaded by community leader Amber Gregory, who recognized that the cost of a new costume can be a financial barrier for many families. A community-wide donation drive and a contribution from Walmart provided a selection of new and gently used costumes at no cost.

"We believe in the power of this community to come together and create meaningful experiences for all children, regardless of their family's financial situation," Gregory said. "By providing free costumes, we are removing a financial barrier and ensuring no child misses out on the fun and imagination of Halloween."
